Tim & Debra Phelps started and incorporated Tim Phelps & Co. in 1999 with the goal to build the highest quality new homes in the Chowan County and surrounding areas. We believe Quality not Quantity is most important in the building industry.

Tim Phelps is a third generation builder with 31 years of experience. He started in 1978 with his father’s company as a part time laborer and worked his way up to supervising, estimating and co-owner. Most of his work was done in and around the Edenton area. Tim left his father’s company in 1998 to form Tim Phelps & Co General Contracting and Construction.

Tim Phelps & Co. has a State of North Carolina “Unlimited Building” license #44743. Our company employs 6 experienced people including owners Tim & Debra. Our work force consists of licensed and fully insured subcontractors as well as a few "in house" carpenters and our own painting staff. Tim & Debra work together managing all aspects of the business.

Our employees and sub-contractors are covered with Worker’s Compensation and General Liability insurance. Our office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
